Thin, inferior piping develops microscopic stress cracks under that load. You will not notice a sudden leak. Cooling just degrades over the months while the power bill creeps up. Insisting on correctly rated copper from day one removes that slow failure entirely.

Insulation That Survives Kinta Valley Humidity

Wiring You Cannot Guess

Wiring connects the aircond to your distribution board, and it carries a heavy, continuous load. The Energy Commission, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, requires a dedicated 3-core 2.5mm² PVC cable for standard 1.0HP to 1.5HP household units. Undersized cable runs hot, the casing softens, and bare live wires can end up exposed in the roof space.
