A new aircond is a major upgrade, and the worry that comes with it is usually about the unknowns: the dust, the noise, the chance of surprise charges. Before the Day: The Site Assessment
A proper installation never starts cold. We assess the space first, in person or via detailed photos, to plan the indoor unit position, the drainage route and the wiring.
A few things get confirmed at this stage. Manufacturers such as Daikin and Panasonic require a 50mm to 100mm gap between the ceiling and the indoor unit for proper air intake, so the mounting height is checked. The copper piping length is measured too: most standard split systems run up to about 7.5 metres without needing extra refrigerant, and stretching past that forces the compressor to work harder.
We also check the wall itself. Standard Malaysian brick walls need a 65mm diamond core drill bit for a clean penetration without cracking the plaster. - Keep children and pets in a separate, closed room during drilling
- Have an adult home throughout to approve any on-the-spot routing decisions
